We’re looking for some field scientists to help us observe a new species of butterfly deep in the heart of the jungle.

We will meet at The Shawnee Park ECHO Office, 230 Southwestern Pkwy.  In the event of inclement weather we will meet at the Shawnee Branch.

Adults and teens are welcome to use the Maker Lab during open hours.

Join us as we discuss The Violin Conspiracy by Brendan Slocumb, a fast-paced "whodunnit" perfect for your summer reading. Copies of the book are available at the branch.

Children will help to prepare and then eat a healthy snack while learning about nutrition and basic kitchen skills. Children will engage in 30 minutes of activity.

Create fuse-bead art using Perler beads! Deep-sea themed and other templates will be provided, or make up your own design. For ages 6-12 and their caregivers. Pony beads and pipe-cleaners will be made available for younger siblings as needed.

Parkland Library would like to celebrate those who make the library what it is: YOU! Join us for the range of crafts to celebrate who you are, no matter where you are from and what you look like. Supplies provided. Ages 5-12.

Calling all fiber artists! Whether you’re new or experienced, join us for knitting, crochet, weaving, needlework and more. Experienced fiber friends on staff will guide you through structured activities, or you can BYO WIP!

In the second part of this two part introductory crochet course, we will incorporate chain stitches, single crochet, half double crochet, and double crochet learned from part one of the course to follow and complete a basic crochet pattern.
