Join COLLIDER Artist-in-Residence, Edwin Ramirez, for this workshop. Ramirez says: "This workshop will explore and create conversation about using various forms of sound to create visual art. As an artist who experiences synesthesia, I have spent much time exploring how sound affects me physically, psychologically, and visually. Despite the fact that only a small population of people experience synesthesia, most folks are affected by sound in one way or another. Sounds can inspire our bodies to move, it can also cause a visceral response and make us feel uneasy when we experience certain frequencies. For many of us, sounds created by ocean waves or rainstorms can help us relax. During this workshop, we will explore simple methods on how we can easily turn sounds into emotional and physical responses that can inspire works of art." This program is recommended for ages 12+.
