We will meet at The Shawnee Park ECHO Office, 230 Southwestern Pkwy.  In the event of inclement weather we will meet at the Shawnee Branch.  

Join us at the Portland library for Wednesday morning storytime!

Children will help to prepare and then eat a healthy snack while learning about nutrition and basic kitchen skills. After there will be 30 minutes of movement activity. Past activities have included yoga, dance parties, and freeze tag.

Spark a sense of wonder and curiosity through play-based activities that encourage exploration and critical thinking. Ages 2-8.

You bring the community and we’ll bring the coffee! This is an opportunity to meet other homeschooling families, enjoy social/play time and share resources. All ages.

My Louisville Storytime is an opportunity for children and their families to connect with local BIPOC community members and leaders in a library setting to promote early literacy, representation, and community engagement. Ages 6-12.

Filled with lots of laughter and learning, children practice fun and challenging yoga poses, partner and group poses, yoga games, breathing, and basic anatomy.

Come learn a simple stitch to create decor or a gift. You will use the simple stitch to embroider your initial and finish off your art with butterfly decals. 

You’ll be surprised how interesting these marsupials are!

Create fuse-bead art using Perler beads! Deep-sea themed and other templates will be provided, or make up your own design. For ages 6-12 and their caregivers. Pony beads and pipe-cleaners will be made available for younger siblings as needed.

Drop in every Tuesday between 3:00 and 5:00 PM for some afternoon fun. Please note that the last half hour of the program will include time to wrap up our activity and clean up. Perfect for grades K-6 and families.

Enjoy a weekly kids only craft time, socialize after school and make something fun to keep! Materials provided.

Join a volunteer from WAGS—Wonderful Animals Giving Service.  They bring a licensed therapy dog into the library that you can pet and read to.  Ages 4 to 12 and all reading levels are welcome.

Unleash the artist in you with our Little Artists program, where children will experiment with various styles and elements of art.

Learn, share strategies, and play the classic game of chess with players of all skill levels. Challenge your local librarian for bragging rights as we get better together!

Let’s have fun with physics! Attendees will design custom contraptions to keep their egg safe, then test them to see if their egg can survive a long fall! Recommended for ages 10 - 18
