Low sensory environment for kids and their adults. 

Join us at the Teen Outpost for a relaxing and peaceful environment to focus on your cozy hobbies. Outpost Café provides a soothing ambiance, along with warm beverages and pastries for a delightful coffeehouse experience.
Ages 10-19.

Relax after class and come play an assortment of tabletop and video games provided by the Library. 

Enjoy teen space with the art cart and board games. Middle and high school students.

Click, draw, record, and play with sound through Chrome Music Lab, a free, interactive, visual interface that blends music and art. Bring your own laptop, tablet, or phone, if possible. To use a library laptop, adult supervision is required.

Attendees can participate in Derby pageantry at the library and create a head-turning hat from provided supplies. 

Calling all horror fans! This month we’ll be watching Experimental Film by Gemma Files and screen The Wicker Man (1974, R 17+).

Please join us for an evening book tasting at St. Matthews library. Visitors are invited to “be our guests” and expand your literary taste as you sample a selection of intriguing nonfiction books curated by your book sommeliers.

Families with children ages 3 to 8

El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30.

Themed activities to encourage imagination and exploration, and to support developing socio-emotional, language, and motor skills. For ages 2-8.

It’s the most Kentucky time of the year!

Baby storytime focuses on developing your baby’s pre-literacy, motor, sensory, and social skills through librarian led, parent participation activities.

Certified Yoga instructor Shana Schack will lead a 45 minute chair yoga session.  No registration required.  

Join us at the Welcome Center of the Jefferson Memorial Forest for a nature-themed storytime and activities! If rain or snow, the program will move indoors.  Ages 0-5.

Homeschooling elementary aged kids and their families are invited to join us on Monday afternoons to explore stories, demonstrations, and activity stations centered on the week’s stupendous STEAM theme. Ages 5-11 and their families.

Teens use our meeting space to hang out, play games, and enjoy other fun activities!
