Nurture a love of reading for your newborn in this special circle time! We'll introduce pre-literacy skills through books, lap bounces, songs, and rhymes, ending with social play.  Ages 0-12 months. 

Baby Lap Sit is a special circle time that introduces the rhythm and beauty of language to babies. Join us for a new offering specifically for parents and caregivers and their newborns.

Join a Good Karma Yoga instructor for gentle activities and breathing exercises designed with toddlers and preschool-aged children in mind.

Join us in painting decorative rocks with images of Saharan Desert wildlife. Ages 5-12 

Support developing skills and make new friends through stories, songs, activities, and playtime! For children aged 0-8 and their caregivers & siblings.

Storytime is an opportunity for families to bond over shared stories and songs, as well as engaging in creative activities that reinforce a lifelong love of learning. Best for ages 3-8.

Foster a love of reading in your young toddlers through this engaging story time! Join us for books, songs, movement, and various activities that encourage the development of early learning skills.  Ages 12 months – 24 months. 

Through an interactive storytime, students will learn what it means to reduce waste. Pre-K to 1st grade.

The great poets of our time pair up with the greatest writer of all time. Students explore Shakespeare’s sonnets and verse alongside contemporary music to discover rhythm, poetry and language. Ages 9-18.

Did you know prairie dogs live in underground tunnel systems called burrows? Join us to learn a few fun facts about these fascinating prairie animals, then design and explore your own Prairie Dog Burrow Maze.

Come listen to a reading of some of your favorite children’s stories, read by a dancer from Ambo Dance Theatre. Then enjoy a series of movement- and craft-based activities inspired by that story!

We’re calling a parliament meeting! Owls and owlets, meet us at the nest where we will talk about who’s who in the world of owls and use our incredible gifts to live the day/night of an owl. Ages 0-5.

Join us for a craft that involves applying small, diamond-shaped resin stones onto a canvas to create a sparkling, colorful image. Ages 8-12.

This special Nature Play program introduces children to the wonderful reptiles and amphibians that share our world with us.  Educators will share fun facts and how these fascinating creatures contribute to the ecosystem.

Explore large vehicles, meet the people who operate them, and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon at the Southwest Library.  

Learn beginner photography skills and how to take clean photos with our local 4-H Cooperative Extension Office.

Join us for a variety of video games, board games, snacks, and hanging out. Ages 12-18.

Discover the art of watercolor with guidance from local 4-H educators! Teens will have the chance to experiment with this versatile medium in a relaxed, environment. All materials provided! For ages 12 to 18.

Learn, share strategies, and play the classic game of chess with players of all skill levels. Challenge your local librarian for bragging rights as we get better together!

Try your hand at glow-in-the-dark painting! Attendees are invited to create a glowing underwater scene, or another glowing masterpiece from their own imagination. Ages 5-18
